BELGIUM, FRENCH-SPEAKING: It is important to keep in mind that working on gender is an on-going and challenging process – a lot of work remains to be done.

However it is nice to know that somehow the Member States of the Gender-CoP are all contributing in the process of building a more gender equal society through the European Social Fund.

I have been working on gender issues since 2003 with an increasing intensity. Being part of a European transnational network on Gender Mainstreaming, helps to improve our ESF-work at the Belgian level thanks to mutual learning between the member states of the European Union.  I’m also very happy to work on gender issues since it is a strong personal interest.

Gender is a transversal priority in the Belgian Convergence and Competitiveness Operational Programmes and our agency has always been very active in providing our project promoters a technical support on Gender Mainstreaming that suits their needs at the same time as it is ambitious and realistic.
