
The European Community of Practice on Gender Mainstreaming (Gender-CoP) and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), Germany, arranged a conference “Gender Budgeting in the ESF – Opportunities, Examples and Limits” in Berlin on September 27, 2012.

Gender Budgeting is a central approach in order to support the Gender Mainstreaming strategy within the Structural Funds. In order to enhance the use of Gender Budgeting in the Structural Funds, this conference aimed to:
- Highlighting Gender Budgeting as good practice and as a useful and feasible approach to support the Gender Mainstreaming strategy within the ESF
- Promoting the transfer of experience and results of the Gender Budgeting strategy in the ESF in the Member States and Regions of the EU
- Elaborate recommendations for the implementation of Gender Budgeting for the structural fund programming period 2014+.
